Unmasking the Dark Reality of Human Trafficking & Exploring the Glamour of Reality TV

Unmasking the Dark Reality of Human Trafficking & Exploring the Glamour of Reality TV

Prepare yourselves for an eye-opening journey as we delve into the disturbing reality of human sex trafficking, spotlighted in the movie "Sound of Freedom". Promise me, you won't watch this movie for entertainment, but rather to understand the horrifying extent of this issue in our society today - let's never let our guard down, especially when it comes to our children. We'll discuss the intense performances from the cast and why this movie, based on a true story, is a stark reminder of what's happening in the shadows of our world.

But it's not all grim. We'll lighten the mood in the next segment, as we take a peek into the glamorous world of reality TV. We'll unpack the Paramount Plus show, Family Stallone, and get a rare glimpse into the Stallone household. You won't want to miss the exclusive, never-seen-before photos of a younger Sylvester Stallone! Also, I'll confess to a personal guilty pleasure - my inexplicable obsession with Hoarders on Netflix. Whether you're a cinephile, a human rights advocate, or a reality TV junkie, this episode promises a mix of enlightenment and entertainment.

Speaker 1:

This is the Jose show, and welcome to another exciting episode of the Jose show. I am your host, jose Roldan Jr. In tonight's episode we're going to be talking about the movie Sound of Freedom by Angel Studios, which is based in Provo, utah. So the other day the wife and I was watching TV and we saw the commercial for Sound of Freedom And basically this movie is about, like, sex trafficking children. Basically That's all we see in here is about children. So we decided, hey, you know what. They're going to show it on July 4th. So here it is July 4th This is when this episode is recorded And a few days ago I bought the tickets because my wife really expressed interest in seeing this movie. Now this movie stars Jim Caviesel, mita Sorvino, bill Camp, jose Zuniga, kurt Fuller and many other actors. So I really liked this movie. And when I say that I liked the movie, it's not like watching, say, a Spider-Man movie and going, wow, man, i really like this Spider-Man movie, because it's not that type of movie to like, like, if you understand what I'm saying. This movie was well put together And it kind of opened my eyes to what's actually going on around the world And even here in our front doors, our back doors, in our own cities. I mean I didn't realize that there is this much human sex trafficking going on. I mean it's vile, it's disgusting. And for people to do this kind of crap, it's just not right, kidnapping people. Now, when you go to see this movie so we went and seen it when you go to see this movie, make sure you stay during the credits, because there is a little bit of a footage at the end by Jim Caviesel that he's talking about the film. So make sure you stay. And anyway, let's get back to the movie. This movie literally just opened our eyes. Like I didn't realize there was so many children that were human trafficked. I mean, yes, i've heard of it And but it's just, it's disgusting. People that do this kind of stuff, in my opinion, need to be taken out of the pasture and taken care of. You know I'm just trying to be nice and to the point, but people like this you can't rehabilitate them. I mean it's just in their mind. They're sick, they're evil. To do stuff to kids, to have sex with kids, that is just gross. And people like that, i'm sorry, they just they need to be six foot under. That's, i'm just, i'm just being honest here Six foot under is the best place for them, and this movie, sound of Freedom, is based on a true story. Now Angel Studios also does The Chosen, and that's about Jesus, so basically about his life. So you have to check that out as well. But the actors did a stellar performance And basically it's not really about them. It's about the brother and sister in this film, and you know it's. It shows you how much love that a little brother and sister have for each other, and when we went to the theater, there was quite a few people. If I had to estimate, just in our one theater I would say there was close to a hundred people. Now I read online that they have sold over two million tickets, which that's a That's. That's a lot. Now, is this a faith-based film? It's from a faith-based studio, but I don't necessarily know if you would actually call this a faith-based film. I guess you could say that Now. I had asked before when I was doing a podcast About faith-based films do all faith-based films have Christians in them? and they said no, it's just, it's a job They're getting paid. Now, jim Cavizel He is a devoted Catholic and that's cool. Nothing wrong with that. But I definitely would urge Everybody that had the chance. If you can go see this movie, go see it because it will definitely, definitely, definitely open your eyes to what's going on. You know, basically, if, if you're in any country or any state and if you see something like this going on, you see somebody kidnapped They're kidnapping adults out in freakin daylight. Never Under estimate people, people anymore, or just pure evil. Never leave your kids unattended, because the moment you do, somebody could be there watching and They will literally take their kids from you and the possibility of you ever seeing them again It's gonna be very, very slim. And you know, when these kids are taken they're groomed and Basically, they're sold into slavery. It is a form of slavery. Now I have a few statistics that I wrote down. So for human trafficking It is a hundred and fifty billion dollar a year. Industry a hundred and fifty billion dollar a year. That's a lot of freaking money for basically slavery. That it's sickening. And Part of this industry 80% are forced to labor. Set means that they're basically Working or doing something and obviously not getting paid. Pretty sure they're getting hardly any food to get by with and what little sleep they get. They, they cherish it and 20% is basically for sex, and That that's just gross. I mean, to send a lady or even a child off to be Handled like that, to be forced to having sex when they're not wanting to, that's considered rape and that's just gross. I just I can't understand. I don't understand the mind of somebody that does this, and I'm pretty sure that a lot of these people that do this, or High-profile people that you don't even know, and that's even sicker, somebody that you would trust It could be anybody, from a preacher, a police officer, a fireman, heck, even a worker at an amusement park. It could be anybody. So always make sure You keep your eyes open, you watch who your kids go over, make sure you check out their parents, because that's the worst thing is to send your kids into danger, send them to somebody's house that you don't know. So make sure you get to know the family and know them very well, because You do not want to lose your children. Man, but this is just crazy. I just, i just don't understand The magnitude of all these Kidnappings. So another statistic that I looked up basically 1.2 million people children, adults are Kidnapped, our human trafficked a year. 1.2 million, that is just mind-blowing. That is just staggering, that that many people are taken into this industry. And You know, basically this movie sound of freedom, takes you on this journey of what The actor, the head actor, did when he went in to rescue this one daughter and It's just amazing at what all he accomplished. And you know, i I give them kudos for making a film like this to basically stand up against these sex trafficking people, because it is. It is vile, it's disgusting. And You know, are we gonna wipe this off the face of the earth? Probably not. It's just gonna be one of those things that's gonna continue to happen. But you know, just stay alert. If you hear something, say something. Don't sit there and beat around the bush and wait For things to happen. Like I said, guard your children with your heart. Never let them out of your sight when you're in public. Always hold their hands if they got to go to the bathroom, even if even at a younger age, say eight or nine, don't send them alone. It's different than when I was a kid. Make sure you go with them. Your children are your best and cherished loved ones. Don't let them go any place alone. I Applore you, i plead with you, just just don't do this. So if you get a chance to watch sound of freedom, it's definitely worth the watch and Share it with all your friends, tell them about it, find out what theater that it's playing in your area. You won't be disappointed and When you walk out You're gonna be staggered at like wow, I didn't realize this stuff actually happens, or the to the magnitude that it happens. It's just crazy. So, all right, folks, thank you for listening to this review and we're gonna go ahead and switch gears and talk about another movie. Stay tuned. All right, folks. So let's talk about the movie Barbie. That's gonna be coming out July 7th 2023. It's gonna be starring Margote Robbie and Ryan Gosling. Hope I pronounced Margots name, right? sorry if I didn't, but you know I remember back in the day I had friends that had Barbie dolls and Ken dolls and stuff like that, and you know they used to dress them and you know, pretend like they were Barbie and talk, talk with them and talk to them and put Them in all kinds of different poses. But now there's gonna be a live-action movie and you know it's funny. I'm definitely gonna go see this. I just want to see how it plays out. I wonder if this thing is gonna like break all box office records and earn a ton of money. Now will. Farrell is also in this, and so is John Cena. I mean, obviously they're in it for the money, because That's just crazy, hey, what? I mean, everybody that's making movies is in it for the money, but I Don't know. We'll have to see how this plays out to see if this movie is gonna be worth It's weight in gold. I don't know, we'll see, but definitely I'm gonna wait till it comes out and maybe wait a week or two Before I go see it, because I just kind of like to wait when there's not a lot of people in the theater And I have a feeling that Barbie is gonna be really crowded, and I'm just not really into a lot of crowds, and that's just me. So we'll see. So if you're gonna go see Barbie, hit me up, send me a message. I just like to know. All right, so we're gonna go ahead and Switch again and we're gonna talk about another film, all right? the next movie that I want to talk about? We saw this on Hulu and it's also on Disney, plus Flamin' Hot, directed by Eva Longoria, and It actually is starring Jesse Garcia. So basically this is a story about how the flaming hot Cheetos came about. Now I was reading some articles online and Frito lay said Richard Montanus didn't have a hand in creating The Flamin' Hot Cheetos but yet he said he did. But it's funny because in the movie They use Frito lay all there. You know, they even show the old Frito lay bags that the Doritos in and all that stuff. So if he didn't actually invent that, why did he say he did? But yet he retired from Frito lay. So it doesn't make sense. But it was a really good movie and I know I've tried those flaming hot Cheetos back in the past and Man them. Things will light your tummy on fire and I can imagine You know what would happen if you ate a ton of those Exactly. So I don't know if I want to get get into that eating those, but check it out. It's on Hulu and Disney plus. Uh, flaming hot. I guarantee you will like this movie. It's very it's it's kind of serious and it does have some Comedy into it as well. So check it out. I hope you enjoy it And we're gonna go ahead and take a commercial break. You're listening to the Jose show, hey folks. Do you like to listen to radio? Okay, so now we're going to talk about a reality tv show on paramount plus and it's called the Family Stallone. Yes, we're talking about Sylvester Stallone from the Tulsa king, and so this uh, basically documentary type story has obviously Sylvester Stallone, jennifer Flavin, which is his wife, sophia Sistine and Scarlett, which is their daughters, frank Stallone, which is Sylvester's brother, arnold Schwarzenegger, dolph Lundgren is in it and basically it just goes over the life of the Stallone family and you see actually pictures of Sylvester when he was younger. These are pictures that you would never see unless you've known the family and you were over their house. Now I do know they have a house in California and in Florida, so that's pretty good. I didn't know Stallone lived here in Florida. I guess if he does movies down here it's just kind of nice to have your own house. Now this movie is on Paramount Plus and I think right now they have six episodes. But it's just pretty cool. Is it scripted? I have no idea. I'm pretty sure most of these reality shows have some part of scripted in them, if that's such a word. But it's actually pretty cool. I just I like watching stuff like this. I like seeing how the other side of the coin, how they live. Obviously they live a more lavish lifestyle than me. That's because I got more money than me. I don't have that kind of money. I'm a hundred-air. I'm not a millionaire or a billionaire like some of these people are. But check it out. It's on Paramount Plus. And if you like Stavestra Stallone, you got to check out Tulsa King. Season one is already over. I don't know when season two is coming out, but it is. It is like a good show. Stavestra Stallone is a great actor. I mean this guy, for his age, he still got it. Man, he is still one tough cookie. You don't want to mess with this guy, but it is worth a watch. The wife and I like it and I just say, watch it if you get a chance. And you know, i know Paramount Plus. You do have to pay a premium for it. I think I pay like $4.95 a month or something like that. That's just up to you. I mean, if you see series that you want to watch on there, what I suggest doing is just getting it for a month and binge everything that you want and then cancel it. That's what a lot of people do. All right, folks, we're going to find something else to talk about, so stay tuned, all right. So what is that other stuff I want to talk about? Yes, okay. So here, lately I've had this obsession to watch Hoarders on Netflix. And you're probably saying why do you like to watch Hoarders? I don't know, it's just, it's just weird to see how certain people live. I mean, i'm not saying that I'm perfect, because I'm not, but I can't imagine walking to these people's houses where you can hardly walk because you can't see the floor. I remember years ago, when I was younger, we had a family that actually had a house similar to that, where you could barely see their floor, and we were kind of good friends with them And but we obviously never really went over because it's just something that I guess my parents really didn't want to deal with, and now, as I'm as an adult, i really wouldn't want to deal with it either. But it's just amazing that this is just something in your head that causes you to want to have everything and not get rid of it, because every piece to me it seems like it has sentimental value. Why do I want to get rid of this cookbook? because it's got good recipes. Or I've had this teddy bear ever since I was a kid. Or this board game. I don't want to get rid of it, but yet it's got rat poop all over it. So watching these episodes, some of the places were really gross from having, like dog poop all over the floor rat feces. I just don't see how some of these people live. It's really kind of gross and definitely they do have a mental disorder And you know, hopefully they can get that fixed. I know it's got to be hard, especially if you've been hoarding for 15, 20 years, to get out of that mindset. And I know a lot of times when we get set in our mind It's kind of hard to change. Even me, if I get set in my mind, it's kind of hard to change things. You definitely just got to think about it. And if you pray, pray about it. See, you know a psychiatrist to talk it over or whatever you do. You know, find a friend that you can confide in, that that's not going to go blab and and say whoa, whoa, somebody has a hoarding disorder, but I just don't want to say the name. But then you tell them the name and then next thing you know It's all over a Facebook and it's, you know, gossip central and everybody's talking about you and that. So, definitely, if you have a hoarding disorder, get checked out, talk to a therapist. But if you want to watch hoarders, it is on Netflix right now. I don't know how many episodes they have or seasons. Excuse me, but I'm thinking they're up to 20. I may be wrong on that. I would have to look it up, but I don't really have time to look it up. But check out hoarders if you like, stop, if you like stuff like that. So I know this episode has been kind of different because I've been talking about series that I've been watching and movies And you know, sometimes I just got to change it up. I've been doing a lot lately with acting and filming and being behind the scenes and in front of the camera, so here lately it's just been really hard to come up with anybody to be on the show and I do apologize for that. It's just it's a lot of work and I've had a lot of stress and But I do appreciate those that have listened and that will continue to listen as I continue to try to pump out new episodes. I do hope people enjoy them. I enjoy creating them. It's just something that I've wanted to do for a long time And I'm hoping to one day get another co-host to help me because it's easier when you have somebody to bounce off ideas or our thoughts or questions and obviously it makes the podcast a lot better and people seem to like when there's more than one person talking and Eventually that will come. I know my friend Victor. He's helped me out quite a bit and when he gets moved to Florida Hopefully soon He'll be back on because Victor is actually pretty cool and I enjoy talking to him and you know it's cool because we can bounce off ideas with each other and That's what makes the world go round. So, anyway, check out these movies when you get a chance, check out these series. It's not for everybody, that's just what I like. You know what can I say? I'm kind of corny when it comes to watching certain types of shows, certain types of movies, and I found myself kind of sleeping a little bit in the theater, not because the movie Sound of freedom was bad, i was just really tired. So my wife kept nudging me and all that stuff. But that's what wives are good for they help keep you awake. And definitely She kept me awake because I would have been out. I just had a long four days on set and About being a zombie. So I have to tell you that in another episode, what was it like? getting into makeup to be a zombie? It was actually pretty cool, but that will be another episode. So once again, folks, i'd like to thank you for listening and please share these episodes with your friends and Family. And you know it's cool that I actually have people all around the world that listen to my podcast. So you folks have a good evening and You know, if you live here in the Florida area, make sure you drink lots of water, because we're gonna have a freaking hot Summer. I can, i can feel it already. I mean, it's like just steaming hot, even at night. I was up this morning at 1 30 taking my dogs out To use the bathroom and, my goodness, it was hot, like it was freaking hot. So it's crazy out there. All right, folks, have a good day. Please remember to share this episode with your friends, families and your enemies. You're listening to the Jose show.
